AUGUST IN ROME UNDER THE MOON

Under the magic glare of the Roman moon and with evocative lighting it is possible to discover the millenary charm of Rome and of one of its most remarkable monuments: the Coliseum, the most important amphitheatre in the world.

Every Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday until the 29th of October you will be able to access the arena, the underground areas, the balconies and the arches of the Flavian Amphitheatre.

The Coliseum was so-called for its colossal dimensions and also because there was a huge bronze statue of Nero nearby. It embodies the place where one of the two passions of the Roman people, bread and circuses, as the Latin poet Juvenal described them, took place. And indeed in the Coliseum the most well-known and appreciated games were taking place, the “Ludi Gladiatori”,dwells among two fighters paid by the Emperor  and nobility and offered to the people as a gift to obtain their approval.
